CABLE CHRISTMAS EVE
It’s already a tradition: on the second evening we invite you to the 20th Cable Christmas Eve. We will meet among friends from the broadly understood cable television and media industry. The idea for the Cable Christmas Eve meetings was born back during the times of the National Association of Cable Television Operators. At first, these meetings gathered a small circle in Skrzynki near Poznań, in a small State Forests facility. In 2005, Andrzej Ostrowski proposed moving the Christmas Eve to the newly opened venue: the Puchaczówka Inn and Guesthouse in Sienna, near Stronie Śląskie, right in the heart of the Śnieżnik Massif. Since then, with the established ceremonial preserved, “cable people” have been meeting there every year. Of course, the term is now rather historical, because today they’re telecommunication operators. And not alone, as regular guests include representatives of broadcasters, content providers, technology, and technical suppliers. The event is open to the entire industry. It is patronized by industry organizations: PIKE, PIKSEL, Mediakom, Protelko, and currently the editorial team of TV-SAT Magazine. The lasting nature of this idea may stem from the fact that in today’s fast-changing reality, we increasingly feel the need to return—even if only for a short while—to times when understanding and unity were considered normal.
